E-newsletters are often just an excuse to email a flyer.

The car dealer where I get my car serviced does a good job. They know their stuff. But so do a lot of other car dealers. But combine that quality of work with the fact that I know them by name, they know me, along with my particular needs. It feels like I'm visiting friends when I'm there. There's connection and trust there. Might I even pay a little more to go there? Yes, but it's worth it for all I get back.
